It's A Mad Hatter Bridal Shower

Long time no talk folks!  I've been a busy bee, but HAD to make the time to share some of the highlights from my first Bridal Shower as a MOH... Let me know what you think of my MOH debut!

It's A Mad Hatter Bridal Shower

Don't Be Late, Don't Be Late... said the rabbit!" DashofDetails got the invitations just right!  I had found 2 or 3 invites that I liked and she combined the themes & customized the colors!  I wrote out exactly what I wanted it to say, got the proof, and a PDF, and took them to a local printer!  I also got a TON of other pintable's such as custom tags, labels, wine, & water bottle labels.

Welcome to the Party!

For someone that is a VERY matchy matchy person this whole Mad Hatter/Alice & Wonderland theme really brought me out of my comfort zone at times.  We could embrace the elements and even a little bit of chaos! Perfect!  We used the directional signs from my wedding to create a fun décor element that embraced the theme and that welcomed our guests!

The perfect welcome table complete with vintage hand towels. pearls, clocks, milk glass vases, and the invitation propped on top of a book.    The Mother of the Bride (my Aunt Linda) found this amazing Tin Top Hat that we used as a Guest Book.  She also had the Brides American Girl Doll outfitted in a Bridal Gown fit for a Princess (Princess Kate).

It's all about the little details!  Bird Bath doubles as a table for two!

I think I was the most excited when I found this chair!  Is this Alice & Wonderland or what?  It was old and had multiple stained so I covered them with crochet doilies and some garland!

The Handmade "Bride to Be" Banner was the perfect touch...
compliments of a fellow crafty bridesmaid!

Lanterns & Fans from Oriental Trading helped add some pizzazz to the tent and some last minute blue toile was perfect for the tent pole drapes

Tea for Two and Two for Tea

This was one of my favorites!  The little one's really loved it too!  Their first Tea Party!

Now for the highlight... Centerpieces!
Vintage tea sets, books, clocks, keys, & pearls! I found some fabric at Hobby Lobby and made runners to tie all of the UN-Matchy Matchy together!

"Some Marriage Advice Would Be Nice".  Small floral tags with matching pencils were left on each table for guests to share their advice.  We also had a little game that asked questions about the Bride & Groom... also compliments of DashofDetails.  All of the questions and bits of advise were read while the Bride opened her gifts.

It's not a Mad Hatter Tea Party without hats!

We also had Broccoli Salad, Summer Salad, Pasta Salad,
Vegetable Crudité, Fruit Salad, & Caprese Salad

Petal Shaped bowls for a variety of dips

Beverages!

Firefly with Lemonade

Custom "Drink Me" Tags & Labels from DashofDetails

Adorable Tea Cup Cookie Favors with custom "Take Me" tags!
Not to mention delicious cupcakes including a lemon poppy!

We made sure the Bride was dressed to impress!  I found her dress at Modcloth, had a hat monogrammed and made the floral attachment, and then found this ADORABLE Alice & Wonderland Apron!

I also found an adorable Alice in Wonderland Tea Cup at Home Goods!  (Wish I had a photo)

Overall I would say the Shower was a complete Success... and not only because the Bride was happy, but because I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Here are some more photos for your enjoyment!

Amazing Day, Amazing Bride!
The Backstory:
After my grandmother passed years ago I had the task of sorting through many of her precious items.  In the mix of many I kept stumbling on these amazing tea sets!  Never a fan before I started to fall in LOVE with how delicate, petite, and dainty these pieces were.  After selecting a few sets while also acquiring an obsession to milk glass I realized I really needed to invest in a china cabinet!

After juggling with multiple venue ideas, themes, & concepts for my very special bride-to-be's shower, I tossed the idea of having a tea or garden party theme in my head!  After living in the south I've learned you can't go to a garden party without a hat, and what is more feminine then sipping tea with the ladies, and lastly... what to do with all of this mis-matched china!  A Mad Hatter Tea Party Bridal Shower!
