Apples for the Teacher
For my mother-in-laws 60th Birthday and Retirement from over 30+ years of teaching a celebration was certainly in order!
A graduate of The University of Georgia we did a red, black, and white color scheme and totally played up on the "teacher" theme decor!
For centerpieces we used miniature chalkboards and wrote milestones throughout her life on the and placed some red apples around the base.
I also used tall vases and put red flora lights in the bottom, filled them with apples, and topped with a floral foam ball of daisy's and Gerber Daisy's. I purchased red pencils from the $1.00 store along with some cylinder vases and hot glued the pencils around the vase and wrapped it with a bow!
For a banner I used an old picture from Bed Bath & Beyond and took out the plastic cover and painted the push board with chalk board paint.
I finished it all off with some red, white, & black balloons and a large 60 Balloon!
The sister-in-laws put together some fabulous and entertaining skits, and Dad wrote a little jingle!
Overall, it was a perfect night!
