Wedding 101-Box of Tricks

Box of Tricks
What is this little box of tricks you ask?  This is the headquarters of managing your wedding guest list and all wedding guest info!

This may seem a little old school with all of the fabulous technology we have access to, but it is certainly a win win in my book!  Plus, you can never be safe enough... don't rely entirely on the Internet/Computer when it comes to some of your most important wedding info... it's always nice to have a backup.

Once you have created your guest list and have everyones address, make an index card for each.  I printed out my list and just cut out each contact and glued it to the index card.

Prior to printing out your list, give each guest or couple a number, it doesn't matter what number you give them just be sure to keep a master list where you can reference the guest with the number.

Put the number next to the guests name on the index card.

This number is essential when getting back your RSVP's.  Why?  Even though it clearly says on the RSVP card M______ or Name______ you will be astonished at how many people forget to list their name so you get a card back and have no idea who it is from.  What you will do with this number is write it on the back of the RSVP card.  I suggest using a pencil and writing it in the bottom corner very lightly.  Or, you can get all high-tech and write it in one of those black light pens.  Regardless, this will be BEYOND helpful when getting your RSVP's back.

Now that you have created a card for this guest you will need to add the following to the card (you are basically creating a checklist)

RSVP- YES or NO
Number Attending_____
(staple RSVP to the back of the card)
Shower Gift_________
Shower Thank You Card_______
Wedding Gift_______
Wedding Thank You_______

Once you have all of this information on the card you will alphabetize them using the tabs you've purchased and file them in your box.

Again, you can certainly do this on the computer, but it is always nice to have a hard copy.  Also, once you are getting closer to the date you can go through all your cards and pull all the ones that don't have RSVP's stapled to the back so you know who you have to contact.

GOOD LUCK!

This card is going to be where  you store the following information regarding this guest:
